CV109 transmitting klystron
This is a pulse transmitting klystron which was used for beacon applications.
Connection to the collector is made via the diffuser. The valve is designed for forced air cooling such that the temperature of the edge of the collector disc does not exceed 100C. The CV test specifications for the CV109 indicate a maximum power output of 250W, under test conditions with 7kV to the resonator and collector, a pulse length of 3µs and PRF of 18,000 pps. |
